Time runs On


Time runs on, a endless race
sweeping away tears and smiles
as night follows day
and day follows night
until all is swept away.

The storm pounds, its endless force
carving away both life and land
as they fall into their embrace
pounded and twisted
until all is swept away.

Yet gazing on your face
and vowing eternal love
I defy time's threats
ignore the waves
and place my faith in us

All other things shall change
but this I swear will not
and even though we be swept away
with time's broom
some trace will stand

These settled vows and spotless faith
time cannot remove
and courage shall show our inward faith,
as faith shall try our love
till all is lost and time stands still.
